I am..

I...

... Am made up of beliefs, opinions, ideas, feelings, emotions.

... Am a sober individual whose only life goal is to live it up fully.

... Am a person who when left alone blooms in full and gives the best to whatever is on hand.

... Am a person who gets suffocated to live a life thinking what might others think about what I say, so, or assume.

... Am a person who rebels when undue pressure is put on me to meet someone else's unreasonable expectations.

... Am a person who will give all in a relationship as long as it lasts but does never ever look back when it is tampered.

... Am a person who never tolerates injustice to self or others in front of me.

... Am a soft and kind person that can turn really nasty when dealing with liars and cheaters.

I AM NOT

... a person clamouring for pity of a person or a person involving in self-pity.

... a person who can be treated like a carpet on the floor.

... a person who will take nonsense and lies and most of all crap from some silly cows.

... a person who runs away from adversities.

... a person who accepts defeat without a battle.

... a person who can live with negativity for long.

There is a phase in life where everyone gets desperate to run out of the problem areas and seek security elsewhere.. in strangers, in friends, in anything drastic.. I did too, but only to realize NO ONE but you know what you are and never to expect understanding except within yourself.. when people judge you and try to change the core person you are, there is no point losing the identity and sticking on.. who gives a person a right to change the other person?? are we so perfect that we impose our ideas on others?? Start with one self IF and IF you need to change, no one else..

So, after a long battle of thoughts and deeds and looking back and looking into the future, I learn that I AM WHAT I AM..not what others (including my own parents) try to make me believe I am.

Never lament for the lost time make the best of what is ahead!!!

Meds For Sale!!

Well, for those wondering if I have shifted my loyalties from transcription and moved into pharmaceuticals, sorry not that..

I dont know if it is the same in all the places in India, but this kind of strikes strange to me.. when I get my prescription filled in the pharmacy, I get complete strips instead of the number prescribed..

for example, the doc gives me 2 tablets to take but I still end up buying the 10-tablet strip because they wont sell them loose it seems.. what the hell.. what will I do with the rest of them.. not that they are vitamin pills that i can pop or some snack for storage.. To hell with such rules, just regulate the sales and avoid misuse..

is it the same in all the places???

PS: I have figured out after talking to a lot of people ad even the doctors that that is how it is in Mumbai.. so I am left with strips and strips of meds with just a couple or 3 used up.. somehow, this practise does not seem right.. i ask a tablet and you give me a strip.. what do you expect me to do with the rest of them????

Jungle Raaj!!! SHAME

Sick and tired and scared to step outside in Mumbai.. a place in India, my motherland, the place which I take pride in belonging to.. but of late, I feel like a hypocrite..

The latest news of Rahul Raj's death really made me go mad.. RR Patil speaking as if he has prevented a hardcore criminal from letting loose in the society really blew my fuse off.. JUST SHUT that bloody mouth of yours man!!! it is you and the mechanism in the first place which is making the youth go crazy and resort to such extreme steps. I do not support the act but I dont want to see that mug of yours beaming with pride.. where the hell were te police when brothers from north were assaulted and where were they when the MNS workers attacked poor aspirants.. or when people like Raj Thackarey openly challenge their ability to stop him.

Shame on you!!! when all the youth was asking for was a mobile to talk to the commisioner and to kill Raj Thackarey or whatever and made it clear to everyone in the bus and outside that it was not his intention to kill anyone at that time.. the police could have shot him in the legs, arms, anywhere but why kill him.. to prove that you are protecting us, the innocent people from serious anti social elements!!!!

Go look at the mirror before making such merry statements and brag on our welfare issues. Your rule is so fragile that the whole city is held under ransom when a person is arrested for justified cause.. where the hell are we in a metro or in a jungle where the killer on the prowl is termed the leader????

Go die in spoonful of water, a cup is too big for you!!!! No wonder the misguided youth had so much anger in him.. my heart goes for the poor kid.. YOU and only YOU (the leaders) are responsible for such deeds.. I just hope the kid finds solace in the unknown world and a lot of peace.

Kho ke aapne par hi to usne tha udnaa sikha
Kho ke aapne par hi to

JP.. A fashion statement????

This is going to be a verbally violent post I guess.. I am very sensitive about certain issues, well ohhkay, agreed almost everything that is close to my heart :).

I strongly believe that the young and educated blood should flow into the political arena. No denying the contribution from the golden oldies but with changing needs and thoughts, we need the new generation stepping in willingly. Let me make it clear with this I dont mean the inheritance politics (Nehru -- now mysteriously changed to Gandhi family) and the likes, common man stepping out of the routine engineering and medicine mould taking a plunge into structuring the Indian Politics, the rapidly degenerating entity in my opinion.

I have seen groups come and go, sparkling ideas just fizzing out, what showed promise one day lacking enthu the next just leaving me to wonder WHY??

Coming to the context and the title, I see a lot of people giving their opinions on everything (of course, I am the first in doing so too) in politics, critical about each aspect from leaders, to corruption, to roads, to neighbors, to India.. everything but the root cause "themselves". I have seen a lot of forums and notice that a lot of people claim and agree that JP is the only one who can give good governance and corruption-free rule in AP. I agree and can even vouch for it completely but what is the use simply agreeing.. it looks fashionable to talk and support JP verbally and I am sure those who support it are the ones who rarely vote.. the educated employee young group that is.. why else is the so famous, so honest and blemish-free individual's leadership, though popular, shows no sign of coming to power in the near future or for that matter ever with undisputed majority?? why??

The manifesto, the proposed agenda, the clear-cut understanding of the problems and also solution to an extent not seeing the light of the day.. why is it that the silent revolution remains silent??? Why does the comment "perulo maatrame satta unna party"
do rounds.. just because they dont go around barking around people, follow the principle lead by example than by picking up other's fault and make a public show out of anything and also nothing.

Obviously, the contractors, the bigwigs, industrialists wont be supporting with huge backdoor donations because there is no profit or appropriate return or favor from a honest group that goes by the book.. just one example, I get a reciept even for 100/- that I donate and I am supposed to furnish my identity and proof to donate and without that they wont accept it.. phew!! how will all the black money ever find its way to the party, NO WAY, so it is for us to donate the amount, the much needed funds, remember every drop contributes to the ocean. PLEASE, stop using the name JP as fashion statement or just to look good in the group, do something!!!!!...

No my compalints are far from over...and finally Nanna Chiru.. where are you?? after successfully launching a party, without even knowing the name is already registered on someone else's name (and they say there has been a lot of groundwork done into the party stuff sigghhh) and near-ditto lifting Loksatta policies and goals and even lifting the name from one of the training programs of Lok Satta (Paja Rajyam), I hear no sound so far??? One wedding and one Siricilla visit drained you or waiting for the muhurtam to do things.. sir, this is politics and public service, we need action not waiting. Sadly after a month after the so-called phenomenal launch, I am still waiting for something original from you. Last but not the least, one nagging doubt.. if so many similarities with Loksatta Party, why launch a different party and split the vote bank rather than supporting Loksatta and taking an active role thereof, especially since you claim serving people is the main motto, nothing else.. can one do it only being the party president.. Ganji ninchi Benzi typelo samanyudini ninchi CM daaka ani manasulo pettukuni prajalni picchi pappalni cheyyakandi!!!

Zindagi Mein Koyi Kabhi...

From the movie Musafir.. this sadness mix song always makes me ponder on the truth that is embedded n the lyrics..

So true..
"God, do not send anyone in to my life who has to go.. when that particular person has to go, why come and leave me heartboken"

Not a good translation but it is one of the most haunting songs.. the wordings of which I completely agree with...

Zindagi mein koyi kabhi aaye na rabba
Aaye jo koyi tho phir jaaye na rabba
Dene ho gar mujhe baad mein aansoo..
!!Tho pehele koyi hasaaye na rabba!!

!!Jaate jaate koyi meri khushiyon ko legaya
Sooni sooni akhiyon ko gham koyi de gaya!!
Aas jo lagaayi hai, aankh bhar aayi hai
Itna bhi koyi sataaye na rabba
!!Zindagi mein koyi kabhi aaye na rabba!!

!!Dil lenewaale pe zor nahin chalta
Pyaar ka ye sikka, kahin aur nahin chalta!!
!!Yaad teri aayi hai... tu harjaai hai!!
Itna bhi koyi tadpaaye na rabba
!!Zindagi mein koyi kabhi aaye na rabba !!

Maangaye Sallu Miya...

Salman Khan... Saw him first in Biwi Ho To Aisi.. then Maine Pyar Kiya.. and from then on no stopping for this guy.. Prem, shirtless, SPB songs, somy ali, Sangeeta Bijlani, Aishwarya, and now Katrina.. are the keywords that remind me of him and not to forget, the black buck and the jail :).

Extra sweet acting (yukkky at times..) remember Baagbaan.. sgaaing droopy eyelids (Saawariya).. slowly and steadily developing aversion.. but here comes a U-turn

Somehow, the image has always of casinova, playboy, arrogant and brattish kind if a person.. yeah yeah, I know I am judgmental (rolling my eyes), but what changed this all is the way he interacts with the participants on his show, the wide variety from different modes of life, treated equally, loved.. I liked all the celebrity episodes and the questions about the KK factor, he has touched so many lives, of common people making them feel as equals and enjoying thoroughly with them, be it the auto river, the paan waala, municipality worker, anyone and every single one enjoyed his presence and that is not mere pretence he was doing there.. he meant what he said and did.. the openness, the honesty, the kindness, the modesty.. well, here goes my heart ;).. you have one big genuine fan in me from now :).

Salman.. tussi great ho, tussi mahaan ho.. balki mein to kehti hoon aap purush hinahi ho .. mahaapurush ho :) (remember this one from Andaaz Apna Apna)

I loved the finale part-1 where he invited his previous contestants and had fun with them.. cant wait to see the 2nd part and will certainly miss this man a loooootttt..

Sensible Humor

really loved this one... no-nonsense way to state the facts :).

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly that made the world community smile.

A representative from India began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Rishi Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named.

When he struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.'

He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.

When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.'

The Pakistani representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.'

The Indian representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech.'

And they say Kashmir belongs to them………………………………………..

One more sentence that I used to love and is much of my style..

"Doodh maango kheer denge.. Kashmir maango cheer denge"

Chiru Savvadi .. Praja Rajyam

Finally, putting an end to the speculation, K. Chiranjeevi (Varaprasad) has announced his party and he symbol... In a very filmi dhaasoo style, he announced it and the name is "praja Rajyam".. the flag, a white base with green border and a red shining sun.

My reactions..

Name is okay, not too catchy for me.. need to read the full manifesto and see it in implementation and then belive.

The flag is good.. the feel is good.

Extempore speech and dramatics.. good to watch.. but are they good enough to rule??

The best thing about todays intro was no harsh words for any individual or any party.. just his views and vision..

I will be more than happy if he does some social service and not fall into that self-service mode..

Good luck AP!!

Tumhe Sab Hai Pataa..

Sometimes, some songs just linger on with the mood you are in currently.. This particular song is particularly stirring considering how lonely an innocent soul feels when all the people who think are his own seemingly betray his trust.. every time I listen to this song, I feel as if someone is squeezing the insides of my heart and soul and the entire being...

Miss you amma.. miss you the most..

I am in a restricted network where I cannot access a lot of sites, hence not embedding the you tube link..

Main Kabhi Batlata Nahin.. Par Andhere Se Darta Hoon Main Maa
Yun To Main..Dikhlata Nahin
Teri Parwaah Karta Hoon Main Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata, Hain Na Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata,,Meri Maa

Bheed Mein Yun Na Chodo Mujhe..Ghar Laut Ke Bhi Aa Naa Paoon Maa
Bhej Na Itna Door Mujhko Tu..Yaad Bhi Tujhko Aa Naa Paoon Maa
Kya Itna Bura Hoon Main Maa
Kya Itna Bura... Meri Maa

Jab Bhi Kabhi Papa Mujhe..Jo Zor Se Jhoola Jhulate Hain Maa
Meri Nazar Dhoondhe Tujhe..Sochun Yahin Tu Aa Ke Thaamegi Maa

Unse Main Yeh Kehta Nahin..Par Main Seham Jaata Hoon Maa
Chehre Pe Aana Deta Nahin..Dil Hi Dil Mein Ghabraata Hoon Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Hai Naa Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Meri Maa

The pain and the fears of the kid are well depicted in the lyrics.. hats off Aamir for this master piece and Darsheel for living it up... muuah kiddo.

Why Does One Have To??

There are times when I feel like lashing out on each and every individual that passes a comment on disabled people.. why the hell do people have to think about them as unfortunate guys and try to give sympathy or try to act like mahatma doing some favor to them. Believe me, this kind of attention-grabbing by ooh-aaah- ayyo papam savior attitude is no good for them and the one doing that too..

Why doesnt one think of them as differently-abled guys and let them live their life with some help if possible or keeping quite.. I dont think it would be asking for much.. just let them BE.

One More Win!!

Another win that made me feel good is of Roger Federer in the doubles category.. surprisingly the first olympic medal for him and may be even the last.. I have some scores to settle with this guy (err.. my bro actually, he once downloaded every single match played by this guy and took my net bill to a huge 54K).. but still, cant just help but feel good each time he wins a match.. he makes the win seem so effortless at times (well, agreed I watch sports rarely but when I do he does;))

Aug 17, 2008

He Did It!!!

The 8th medal is won and he did what he set out to.. I am very very very happy and it sure does lift my spirit tremendously. Nothing is impossible if you set out your mind on it..

PHELPS is the hero of the decade for me!! Way to go.. 14 olympic medals and I wish many more to go to this young man!!

Aug 15, 2008

Phelps .. The Human Whale

.. Aqua Gladiatior is how he is referred to as and deservingly so.. am really amazed at this guy's single-minded determination, extreme focus with eyes set on one goal, 8 medal victory a new world olympic record. It is really rare to see such kind of motivation and determination and it gives me a great pleasure to see him equal the existing record by Mark Spitz, another American.

It is extremely heartening to see the motivation and the recognition one gets from their nation.. looking at the number of medals, in fact more than the contestants that represent India, I just hope and pray India too competes with other nations just like it does in all other fields.

This victory also reminds me of Ian Thorpe (LINK HERE), my favorite swimmer from Australia and cant but help feel sad at his early retirement citing waning motivation as the reason.. Agreed after every rise there is a fall but I would like the rise to be complete before the downfall begins..

I wish all the very best to Phelps and cant to wait the much-deserving win with him and the entire world..

yay Abhinav!! You made us proud..

What more could give me pleasure than a gold medal in this depressingly pouring skies and running nose (at the rate I am squeezing the nose and soaking up the towels, I wonder I am still not dehydrated)..

It is no doubt a moment of glory to every Indian but the single-minded determination of the individual and the family concerned is the only factor contributing to his victory. I take pride in the win.. you made our day!! Long live kiddo!!

My India...

I am in my homeland and do not know whether to feel happy at the nonstop rains or feel sad for us being so unprepared.. all the time either ativrushti or anaavrushti.. the power cuta, lack of rains, hike in daily commodities, increase in bribery, decrease in human values, rich getting richer and poor getting pooere scenario, everything is getting to me..

This was my first ever time in Mumbai thanks to bro and mom staying out here.. so kind of new place, but felt instantly at home whent the airport staff demanded JUST 30 dollars for my speedy exit.. WTH??? I paid the airlines the fare along with the taxes right and 30$ is half days pay of minimum wages even in US which you guys obviously want to earn in 2 minutes!!!! And yeah, should obviously be paid for degrading our nation so much and scaring people like me coming back home for good to settle.. you give us creeps and make us rethink about our decision.. sorry to say but India stinks and really bad at this aspect.. I love my country but hate a few of its facets.. :((.

Coming to my crib about rains.. why dont the governments who crib and cry when there are no rains just be prepared for scenarios like flash floods, rising water levels, etc beforehand.. oops, I forgot they are busy hurling notes at each other and trying to figure out how to come to power or rather stay there by hook or crook or whatever the hell it is.

It is the season of weddings and new beginnings and looking at all the hungama, obscene display of wealth and status, I cant help but wonder whether the overexcited families give a damn about the budding new lives or just hell bent on getting their wishes fulfilled at the cost of scarring the young minds forever.. the relief and happiness on the bride's side for getting their loved one married for a secured future and the insecurity of losing grip on the son's life and the need to show the newly wed that we are still in control from the groom's side, the anxiety and the fear of the young couple.. somehow, it is suffocating at times, why dont people let things happen peacefully and bring in their fears everywhere making the life hell.. too much of negativity bottled up I guess. I need a break from such festivities for a while... and also the health, jet lag, rains, nothing is helping..

and as they say, I should find happiness within myself and bounce back higher..

Slice of Life..

There are times when we do not realize what we are into and how deep into unless you break free and think afresh..

It is just unbeleivable what insecurity and hopelessness can do to any person and negativity creeping up does not help either..

It is better to pull up your own strings before you shrink further.... It is just one slice that life offers you that is rotten, keep going..

Waiting eagerly to see whom the oh-so-very-conscious government will arrest this time around for the faux-paus on the christ picture in their edition..

just wondering... how come you dont check the picture before you put it on the paper.. especially when you claim yourself to be the largest circulated daily paper in AP with well-paid and well-looked after staff and that too coming in color pages!!!

Just Think..

A man eats two eggs each morning for breakfast. When he goes to the Kirana store he pays Rs. 12 a dozen. Since a dozen eggs won't last a week he normally buys two dozens at a time. One day while buying eggs he notices that the price has risen to Rs. 16. The next time he buys groceries, eggs are Rs. 22 a dozen.

When asked to explain the price of eggs the store owner says, "The price has gone up and I have to raise my price accordingly". This store buys 100 dozen eggs a day. He checked around for a better price and all the distributors have raised their prices. The distributors have begun to buy from the huge egg farms. The small egg farms have been driven out of business. The huge egg farms sell 100,000 dozen eggs a day to distributors. With no competition, they can set the price as they see fit. The distributors then have to raise their prices to the grocery stores. And on and on and on.

As the man kept buying eggs the price kept going up. He saw the big egg trucks delivering 100 dozen eggs each day. Nothing changed there. He checked out the huge egg farms and found they were selling 100,000 dozen eggs to the distributors daily. Nothing had changed but the price of eggs.

Then week before Diwali the price of eggs shot up to Rs. 40 a dozen. Again he asked the grocery owner why and was told, "Cakes and baking for the holiday". The huge egg farmers know there will be a lot of baking going on and more eggs will be used. Hence, the price of eggs goes up. Expect the same thing at Christmas and other times when family cooking, baking, etc. happen.

This pattern continues until the price of eggs is Rs. 60 a dozen. The man says, " There must be something we can do about the price of eggs".

He starts talking to all the people in his town and they decide to stop buying eggs. This didn't work because everyone needed eggs.

Finally, the man suggested only buying what you need. He ate 2 eggs a day. On the way home from work he would stop at the grocery and buy two eggs. Everyone in town started buying 2 or 3 eggs a day.

The grocery store owner began complaining that he had too many eggs in his cooler. He told the distributor that he didn't need any eggs. Maybe wouldn't need any all week.

The distributor had eggs piling up at his warehouse. He told the huge egg farms that he didn't have any room for eggs would not need any for at least two weeks.

At the egg farm, the chickens just kept on laying eggs. To relieve the pressure, the huge egg farm told the distributor that they could buy the eggs at a lower price.

The distributor said, " I don't have the room for the %$&^*&% eggs even if they were free". The distributor told the grocery store owner that he would lower the price of the eggs if the store would start buying again.

The grocery store owner said, "I don't have room for more eggs. The customers are only buying 2 or 3 eggs at a time. Now if you were to drop the price of eggs back down to the original price, the customers would start buying by the dozen again".

The distributors sent that proposal to the huge egg farmers but the egg farmers liked the price they were getting for their eggs but, those chickens just kept on laying. Finally, the egg farmers lowered the price of their eggs. But only a few paisa.

The customers still bought 2 or 3 eggs at a time. They said, "when the price of eggs gets down to where it was before, we will start buying by the dozen."

Slowly the price of eggs started dropping. The distributors had to slash their prices to make room for the eggs coming from the egg farmers.

The egg farmers cut their prices because the distributors wouldn't buy at a higher price than they were selling eggs for. Anyway, they had full warehouses and wouldn't need eggs for quite a while.

And those chickens kept on laying.

Eventually, the egg farmers cut their prices because they were throwing away eggs they couldn't sell.

The distributors started buying again because the eggs were priced to where the stores could afford to sell them at the lower price.

And the customers starting buying by the dozen again.

Now, transpose this analogy to the gasoline industry.

What if everyone only bought Rs 200.00 worth of Petrol each time they pulled to the pump? The dealer's tanks would stay semi full all the time. The dealers wouldn't have room for the gas coming from the huge tanks. The tank farms wouldn't have room for the petrol coming from the refining plants. And the refining plants wouldn't have room for the oil being off loaded from the huge tankers coming from the oil fiends.

Just Rs 200.00 each time you buy gas. Don't fill up the tank of your car. You may have to stop for gas twice a week, but the price should come down.

Think about it.

Also, don't buy anything else at the fuel station; don't give them any more of your hard earned money than what you spend on gas, until the prices come down..."

...just think of this concept for a while, it might work!!!!!

If not for petrol, we can use that concept elsewhere, thought provoking indeed.

An Evening With an American Family..

Those of you who know me well also know that one of my "to-do" things while in US was to spend an evening or some time with a typcial American family and to get to know more about the culture and stuff like that. That has come true this long weekend when my friend Jeannie moved from PA to Huntersville, NC and I joined them for supper.

For me it was a really really big event but for her it was a casual friend joining for supper. So, OH had to drop and pick me up for this monumental visit of mine.

She made Chicken Lasagna and salad and it was quite an informal gathering. The family was still unpacking as they just moved the week prior but most of it was set. The decor and the display was simple and sweet. I had asked her so many doubts about the stereotypic notions about each of our cultures and cleared my so many nagging doubts about things in general that I have heard.

It was an evening well spent to me with a lovable American family of a couple and 2 daughters, kind and fun loving. While I was there, the youngest one spotted a baby bird on the pavement next to her house and fed it worms and water and took care of it. Unfortunately, the baby bird just died yesterday and Jeannie tells me that the birdie was given a royal burial (wrapped in the kid's purple glove because purple suggests royalty) and a teary farewell. Loved those guys earlier too but love them a lot more after seeing them in person and knowing them much better!!

Aarushi Talwar's Murder -- Mystery and Media!!

I have read about it a while ago in one of Mad Momma's posts, said a quick prayer for the girl's short life and went about life without thinking anything else about it. For me, it was an unfortunate event which should not have happened but did and it rang nothing else at that point in time. Call it a blessing or bliss of ignorance due to my selective reading about events back home in the media which kept me unaware of it all the while but one program called 'The Aarushi Poll" which I happened to see in desivideos ({LINK HERE}) made me sit up and look through the archives and go through chronology of events ever since listed {LINK HERE}.

So much has been written about everything but what stands out from my observation is that it is the failure of police machinery to let anyone and everyone trample on the crime scene, the result of which is the groping in dark that is happening to date. I dont know about the lifestyles of high society people in India but what concerns me the most is the distortion of facts and excessive media hype on each and every aspect. There have been many questions that were raised in the investigation for which there are no answers as of yet.. {LINK HERE}.

One thing that makes me shudder as the anchor has said time and again is if a girl is killed in what is supposedly the most secure place in the world, her very own house, where is one safe???

Few things that this unfortunate incident has mirrored and brought in the fore are

1. interpersonal relationships at home.
2. reliability or the lack thereof the domestic helps.
3. character assisation of the dead and the victim and the family in general.
4. media hype and overkill.
5. police incompetency in handling the issue better, the recovery of the body from the very same house the next day leaves a lot of glaring mistakes as to why have they failed to check the house thoroughly for clues??
6. role of parents and their own issues in the whole thing.
7. the tests and retests of the domestic helps leading nowhere makes me think about the possiblity of "if nothing break those guys up mentally and leave no way but giving up."

and on top of it all "illu kaali okadu edistey chutta nippu kosam okadu edchinattu" it is disgusting to note the way Balaji Telefilms has proposed to use up the story in one of their leading never-ending soap operas {LINK HERE}!! Why not just let the police get done with this and then use it rather than add an element of fiction and confuse the already confused public even more.

Every one wants to make a field day out of the event, all that matters is the circulation of the papers, TRPs of the channels, and no one is actually bothered about the facts and the underlying events that cut a budding life so short in such a terrible manner..

One of my dreams as a child was to go into investigative journalism and now I just wonder if such thing exists at all and even if it does, sadly enough it is only to create sensations and not awareness.

Whatever are the facts, it sure would go down the history as one of the most mysterious sensational stories of India. The girl just about to turn 16 and going to join her 10th after summer holidays just lost her life in the most brutal way and there is so much of a mystery surrounding it. I am at loss of words to express my feelings, I just hope the justice is served.

Vantage Point -- My Review

Saw the movie yesterday and was captivated by the way it was dealt with. I liked the way in which the story is revealed.. revealing bits and peices of story as seen through the characters involved starting just a minute prior to the event and the incidents surrounding it.

Loved Dennis Qaid, a racing thriller, good one in case you are looking for something light yet captivating.

It deals about the assassination attempt on the President of The United States and his rescue..

I dont have a problem with his social strata, but yes me and a lot of others who get affected have a problem with his publicity stunts in particular.

The one thing he might do if he reads my blog is book another NRI atrocities on his community maybe, stating that I insulted him using the word "kaaki" but actually thinking it is an insult to the crow. I will agree only if the crow files a complaint for defamation and not him!!!

Soul-Search Tag!!

Aalapana has tagged me with this one..

The tag rules: Write about the changes that have happened in your life, at least five, because of your significant other. Then Tag five others. If they don’t have a significant other, then any one person, who has caused the change. Please don’t leave the tag alone in the wild.

Well, how has marriage changed you is one question that brings about so many answers outright but this one somehow has always been leaving me with so much to think, so much to understand. My purely personal view is that if we get married late, our personality, individuality would have been established full-blown and it is difficult to mould ourselves to others or no matter how much I might disagree, there will be pride issues to accept that one could have such an impact on us. For an individual who resists changes or rebels at the very thought that someone might be influencing me, it has been a tough time but yes, I have changed not because he forced me to but because I liked that in him (ante manadi kinda padda naadey pai cheyyi aney type kada ;)).

I have learned to be more tolerant of the individuals of the families we are born into, forgiving their weaknesses, accepting them totally and completely.

I dont let myself get hurt easily, keep trouble-makers at a convenient distance (need not necessarily be physical and psychological hurt but even those who are a threat to peace of mind with larger-than life egos). Be a little cautious about people in general, not that trusting, not that open because there is always a chance of getting hurt really bad.

Eat well your heart's content and focus on being healthy.

To live life like I want it to and not dictated by others including the OH, retaining my own personal space.

Be a silent observer than bursting out when I find something disturbing.. this I am trying to do gradually, you know old habits die hard ;).

Thanks for tagging me and letting me think about things that I usually brush aside..

Coming to tagging someone, you know the obvious person I would want this to do is Caps..

Then Rads, Ramya, Swathi, Madhu.

Caste and The Country :(...

One look at today's AP polit(r)ics and we get to understand that caste, religion, and region reign. Why do people use the trump card of caste each and every time they have no other issue to rake up. It is really unfortunate that the leaders jump in to cash on the caste feeling among the masses and use it to their selfish motives. I was brought up to believe that every human being is equal and to treat each and every individual with respect.

The first time I heard about this term "caste" was when some kid in the school asked me what I was. I came back home getting diverse answers, one from dad who gave me the name and began taking me to our community get-togthers that take place every year and the other from my mom who said why the hell do you want to know that and what difference would that make whatever you are to your friend and then told me about the 4 varnas and such stuff but warned me never ever to bring it up in my discussions ever with anyone and never to base any of my views about a person based on which community he belongs to.

It might be easy for me to say why make a big deal of the caste because I belong to the so-called "upper caste" and have never been subjected to any atrocities or differences by any one. Agreed there are a lot of villages still where untouchability is practised and casteism rules, but instead of focusing on bringing about equality, why are the leaders hell bent on dividing the people further based on the very same. Whatever is the mindset of the people, I believe, that it depends on the education a man recieves and it is the duty of the government to eradicate such social differences and bring about social and economic equality but in stead they just watch and fuel the fued :((..

What the hell is wrong with this guy Manda Krishna Madiga, what has he done to the upliftment of the oppressed in the society. There was a time when I was impressed with activities and marches they used to do to fight for their rights and was watching them closely but somehow down the lane, he lost the track. All I see him doing is making absolutely unnecessary issues, responding to anything and everything and being desperate in raking up nonexistent, silliest to the core issues ranging from papers to movies to day to day life. Looks like he has an opinion on anything and everything and when one tends to give him a dose of his own medicine, he plays the oppressed atrocities card. Well, things just dont work this way, sooner or later the very people he says he represents will see through his game.. Baaduga netalu antey kopam vacchindi kaani ee panulanni enti???

Comedy of Errors!! :)

"Nenu edi chesina Chirigi, Chaatantai, Chaapanta autundi"... Ento Venu Tottempudi anna ee particular dialogue maatram naaku aptga set autundi :).

I start something on a very small scale in a normal way and the result ends up being something else altogether. Me and the OH have been planning to watch the movie Ready and Sarkar Raj for a long long time and each time something or the other came up. Usually movies stay at the max 2 or 3 weeks in the local theaters in Atlanta and http://atlanta.eknazar.com is the site I usually check out for the movie and event listing. Last Sunday, when the listing showed the movie Ready was playing at Peachtree Cinemas at 7 and 10 p.m., we promptly reached the theater by 9:45 to find out that last Telugu movie show on Sunday is at 8:30, so we return back home and catch a good night's sleep and this Sunday turn up at 8:40 for the very same movie which is listed in the site above as being showed at 8:30 p.m.

So, if you were wondering why all this intro, the drama just begins...

Yours truly rushes to get 3 tickets for Ready and races to the screen showing the movie and settle in the seat just in time to catch the intro of "Brahmanandam" and enjoy the movie fultoos wondering why everything suggests climax and what will the movie be after interval and then at 10 p.m. came the much un-awaited "The End." What actually happened was the site listing as usual was incorrect and the show started at 7 p.m. and I was issued the ticket for 10:20 show which I totally failed to register and since there was no one at the entrance to see the ticket, we just raced in and settled thinking we lost 10-minute show whereas we actually went in way after the interval part :(((((((... So, the aadarsh genious jodi that we are, stayed back in the theater for the actual show we bought the tickets for and watched up to the point where we began seeing it.

Here begins the new trend to watch the movies, 2nd half first and the first half next :)...

Well, it is just not like that I call myself a cartoon ;). (well, I call myself, dont even dare to call me that... err, at least on my face ;).)

AP Raajeenaa(dra)maalu...

Following AP politics these days is like a circus (no offense to anyone involved in the actual Circus) and even worse at times..

Veru kumpati ani paaripovatam enti, confusing people with different groups sprouting up. I was wondering why a new party going through Chiru's here-I-come, not-just-now acts and there is already another party in the making thanks to split in TDP and the so-called oops-I-remember-Telangana, and I-want-to-be-No.1, Devender Gowd politics. As common man, silent observer (okay, okay, I make little noises in this space time to time ), I am mostly vexed with so much going on. I always felt that DG was one of the few sensible politicians who is stable, result-oriented, and focussed but now I doubt it, I am confused, I cannot say right from wrong and I dont know the actual truth, the media which is supposed to be guiding the general public is making the matters worse by taking sides and publishing their own versions, between the polit(r)ics and media wars, the common man is confused and neglected. For me, staying out of the state, talking from this far or expressing views is easy because the immediate impact is not there but still I am worried.

I am fed up. Who is pure and pristine around here

CBN coming to power de-throning the-then TDP supremo NTR, (the saving grace was he was the only CM I actually saw working and the one who made people around him work and made AP and Hyd a powerful place to look at in terms of IT or education. Ignoring how much he has amassed monetarily or whatever, I saw some progress in some fronts at at least am sure given a chance he will do as much to the agriculture and rural sectors realizing his folly the last time around).
YSR who is surrounded by issues all the time, either creating one or in one screaming his lungs out "Adhyakshaa.." whose only aim these days is to crush the forces that dare to come out in open using his own media power and ruling party power even when the public is haunted with countless problems, .
KCR
, the man one who remembers his Talli Telangana IF and only IF his personal motives are not satisfied and is always ready with a pen and paper to resign and create ruckus and divert attention each time his real motives are brought out in open.

and finally..

JP the only man I thought had the power to confront the dirty-tricks in politics. Where the hell are you man and why arent you guys blowing that damn "whistle" of yours????

Last but not the last, it is high time the so-called King Maker media guys, make the existing chaos an utter chaos..

One song that I am reminded these days is "Bharata maatanu nenu bandeenai padi unnanu.. " where in the God's name are we heading to. Why is no one condemning the acts going on, I no longer feel comfortable watching just one newspaper or a channel and end up reading all the three and making my own inferences which is a dangerous situation. Is there no alternative, if serving the public and nation is the aim, cant they come together and work for it emerging into two strong entities like the ruling and the opposition and strive to outdo the others in terms of progressive action and not go about degrading each other to the maximum possible extent..

In my life time, I have seen 'n' number of changes

Inflation or whatever it is, 5, 10, 20 np coins are gone.. or to be precise, why do we need them, we dont get anything at that cost??? I wonder in a few years, it will just be 1 and 2 rupees or maybe even just 5 rs/-.

I can only dream of buying a house or a plot because of the obscene rates (okay, to a large extent it is the NRIs who caused this situation but cant there be any control enforced).

I need to go to the remotest possible villages to get a breath of fresh air.

There is rampant corruption in each and every government-run organization and can we blame them entirely, with their pitiable pay and increasing cost of living, what can they do (not supporting them but want to figure out the root cause of it all other than the pocketing-others-money mentality).

I no longer say "nenu Chaduvu"kuntunna" it is chaduvukontunna

When a person like me with not so much of a worldly-wise knowledge, sees so many issues to tackle upfront, why are these netas hell-bent on wasting our tax money with all these dramas and hung elections and re-elections, why feed your bellies sucking the blood of the unsuspecting common man?? why why why????

Raajasekharaa Neepai...

.. tikka teeraledura... kadupu manta perigeraa!!!!

I happened to see an interview in the net quite sometime ago LINK HERE and for the time felt like personally going around bashing the people who did not vote, (!yeah I have this tendency to blame ourselves, the so-called educated, tech-geek juntaa who have the capability to say right from the wrong and capacity to lecture on and on and on about what is wrong in the society and why, but just fail to cast their valuable vote!) and ask them to see what they have gotten us into.. any question, the answer is ask Mr. Chandrababu Naidu or whosoever it is to go court.. what the bloody hell!!!.. this from a man who chose to be our representative for a sum total of 5 years, in whose capable hands we kept our state for progress or peril. I was shaking my head in wild disbelief. Until then, I never was critical about anything about anyone from politics but from then I made a point to try to figure out.. but still there are a lot of things I just dont understand...

Why is the government hell bent on seeing the people who dare to write against them behind bars?

Are there no pressing issues at all in the state, is everything hale and hearty?

Instead of looking at ways to improve the quality of life of a common man which by the way is way below acceptable and the seemingly ever-mounting cost of living and many more stuff things, is taking revenge on the opponents the only aim?

CBN and TDP, Chiru, Ramoji Rao and Margadarsi and Andhra Jyothi and anything related to them is a cause of immediate concern.. are they the only ones who need mending or bending or minding whatever?

Patrika Swatantram anedi just Sakshiki maatrame vartistunda?

Paper, Plastic and Life!!

Using plastic and paper so much bothers me no end. After coming to US, I notice exponentially increased use of paper for anything and everything, wipes, bath tissues, kitchen tissues, napkins, paper towels, giveaway magazines.. one look at the public restrooms and my heart goes for all the trees cut down for us to wipe our hands.. germs, infection, cleanliness, blah.. blah.. blah.. Why not use a clean handkerchief or a cloth napkin and reuse it!! Why not use water for God's Sake!! I have my own doubts.. can paper clean as well and if you have to you water anyways, why not use it in the first place!!!

Plastic and its hazards to health and the hazards to the ozone layer!!! When will we ever realize.. the world and the environment in general is not as fresh and pure and clean as it was when were born, why degenerate it even further to our future generations, why not just minimize the use.. tap water in US is as good or better than the mineral water in some places and why not use Brita Pitchers or Pur filters and go for reusable water bottles.. Stop, Think, and Buy!!!

If I were the planet earth, I would die a death every time some natural resource of mine is wasted, each time I were abused with rashness of use, each time I think about the pollutants added, each time I think about the extinct species.. well in short a million deaths every single second and I shudder even at the thought.. why dont we understand the pain that we inflict on the mother earth!! Minimize the use of plastic and paper..

alternatives can be
1. Use clean handkerchiefs, a whole lot of them if need be in stead of paper tissues and wipes.
2. Use napkins and reusable stuff than throw-aways.
3. Use water from tap or filter the water at home and minimize overloading the planet with plastic waste.
4. Use shopping bags made of cloth or jute to carry stuff than in plastic.
5. Use water in stead of the bath tissue whenever possible.

...in general look for ways to bring about a healthy and environment friendly lifestyle. Believe me, it is not as tough to practice, just a little conscious effort.

Please feel free to add in more of your thoughts on the same...

Laser Love

I had been to a laser show in Stone Mountain yesterday. It was a lovely single huge rock with three warriors or horses carved on it and there was a laser show with fireworks and all late in the night. There were lots of people lazing around in a big playground like area with lots of greenery bringing in their own stuff, blankets, chairs, campers, and just eating and lying down and enjoying the nature, some coming from miles to do just that.. somehow, I liked our laser show in Lumbini Park much better than that and I long to go there right now :(((((

On My Mind Now....

Sometimes, as I relax with a book in my hand in a silent home with just the noise of the dryer and the dishwasher in the background and the knowledge that the house is spic and span and am done for the day with the chores with some soft melodies in a volume on the player, I just drift along in my own world...

Just a while ago in that peace and calm, I was wondering about the mixed blessings that the life bestows on us

... the way one ages a lifetime in just a matter of days when some tragedy strikes but bounces back with the sweet gift of time which has the healing power to erase even the harshest seemingly unforgettable memories easing them on our minds and souls.

I feel that the greatest gift to the mankind is forgetting and forgiving and moving on with life with hopes on the future and wisdom from the past but living in the Present.

The belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel is the biggest motivator in times of trouble. It is just the mind making the most out of the minute stuff in life and leaving us awfully restless and ruining THE moment...

There are times there are a string of unfortunate events happening one after the other in life and nothing seems to be going right and when I started questioning my existence and the existence of the almighty too, but I guess it is in extremes that a person requires more restraint on emotions and control over the tongue and the senses in general and it is THEN the strength of the individual comes to forefront than any time else...

Need to shake myself to get out if Gyaani mode :).. pause and ponder and more thoughts welcome.

And I was Thinking....

As a kid, I thought great people become leaders (period).

As a student, I thought strong will, commitment, sacrifice, and determination to serve the people and the nation was what is needed to enter politics.

As a grownup, I thought more than anything the intention to serve one self and/or one's family is more than enough be in politics.

Now, I realize it is not that easy, you need to have a newspaper, TV channel, money power, fan backing, along with hidden agendas and secret planning..

What are we coming to???

Bring an Order to Chaos -- More on Dasavatharam!!

I happened to see this forwarded compilation mail, which listed out everything about the movie, the doubts I had a lot more.

After reading the entire stuff which is way too lengthy, I really cant help but wonder if Kamal had so much in mind while making the movie, if yes, hats off man!! If not, hats off to the fans who derive so much from interpretations.

Fwd Email Content:

The 10-roles
One thing we had noticed is why people didn't get the real subtext and reason for the various roles and hence the title.

If you knew the real dasavatharams of Lord Vishnu and their characters you can appreciate the script more.

Let me explain, starting with the best adapted role:

1. Krishna avatar - Vincent Poovaraghavan
Lord krishna is actually a dalit, he is dark-skinned [shyamalam]. He saved draupadi when she was being violated and he was the actual diplomat in mahabharatham. Lord krishna dies of an arrow striking his lower leg. Now look at how vincent was introduced.. he appears when asin is about to be molested and he saves her like draupadi. Vincent is the dalit diplomat, fights for land issue [soil issue to be exact] and dies from the metal rod striking his leg. Oh even five of vincent's men are drugged at P. Vasu's.. sounds familiar???

2. Balarama avatar - Balarama naidu
This is an easy given. as the name suggests and the role personifies you can easily get it.

"Did not even know that in some puranas Balarama is considered the eighth or ninth avatara of Lord Vishu".

3. Mathsya avatar - Ranagaraja nambi
nambi is thrown into water in an act of trying to save lord from being thrown into sea, though vainly. what more clue do you want?

4. Varaha avatar - Krishnaveni paatti
During the mukunda song, krishnaveni paatti does varaha avatar in the shadow puppetry. The frame freezes on it for a second. there is the clue. Moreover, in varaha avatar lord actually hides earth so as to protect life forms. Here too krishnaveni hides the germs - life form inside the statue so as to protect.

5. Vamana avatar - Kalifulla khan
remember in vamana avatar, lord vishnu takes the vishvaroopa, that is the giant form! Hence the giant kalifulla here symbolises vamana avatar.

6. Parasurama avatar - Christian Fletcher
Parasurama is actually on an angry killing spree and killed 21 generations of the particular kshatriya vamsa. Hence the real KILLER... Guess what thats what our Fletcher is! He comes around with the gun [modern upgrade for axe] and kills everyone around. I have to check if he kills 21 people though. :-D

7. Narasimha avatar - Shingen Narahashi
first of all the name itself is a play on the words singam [means lion in tamil] and narasimha [the avatar being symbolised]. Lord Narasimha manifests himelf to kill the bad guy and he also teaches prahaladha. In the movie, he shows up to kill the killer fletcher! and is also a teacher.. Lord Narasimha had to kill the asura with bare hands and hence the martial arts exponent here.. get it?

8. Rama avatar - Avatar Singh
Lord Rama stands for the one man one woman maxim, kind of symbolising true love.. Here Avatar portrays that spirit by saying that he loves his woman more than anything and wants to live for her.

9. Kalki avatar - Govindaraj Ramasamy
As you know, the hero in kaliyug can be none other than the Kalki avatar!!!

10. Koorma avatar - Bush
This is the most loose adaptation I couldn't clearly comprehend. But if you look at the real koorma avatar, the lord is the turtle/tortoise that helps in stirring the ksheera sagara and bringing out the amruth. This essentially creates war among the devas and asuras. Similarly today Bush facilitates war between you know whom... May be Kamal also indicates that this avatar is a bit dumb like the tortoise...

Too many doubts about correlation of the movie, Chaos theory and Butterfly Effect have come into Picture....! !!

The movie clearly states about Chaos Theory and Butterfly Effect [Kamal says it in his Speech in the Movie ]

The concept of "CHAOS THEORY" and "BUTTERFLY EFFECT", by itself is a complex concept, which mainly highlights the happening of huge unimaginable things because of least probable things...!!! !

Dasa although deals with these concept, but does not necessarily confuse anyone with it. As i said earlier, its mainly "YOU"... that plays a factor in how the movie gets along with "YOU".

You have got to be Case 1 or Case 2 as i have said earlier in this entry,,, No use being Half Baked.....!! !!

To just brief about these Concepts,

Q: What is Chaotic System ?
A: Basically a chaotic system is one wherein long term predictions are impossible.Like for example,if I push a car, I know that it is going to move and it will continue to do so if I go on pushing it on and on.However,in a chaotic system, this situation cannot be predicted over a long period of time.
Weather for example is a chaotic system. No matter how good your instruments are,you simply cannot predict the weather with 100% accuracy over a long term basis and forecast it.

Q: What is the Butterfly Effect ?
A: It is the most important component of a chaotic system.Basically, small perturbations results in amplifications which completely destroys the original nature of the system and makes prediction impossible.
If a butterfly flaps its wings in Africa,it could result in a cyclone in USA.(Mark the word COULD).A highly dumbed down explanation of the butterfly effect is in the film Anniyan, where Vikram's sister dies because a liquor shop owner sells liquor on a dry day.

Q: OK, how does Dasa incorporate it ?
A: In essence,Dasa talks about 8 characters who are inconsequential as such, but are integrated in a larger picture.Without Bush, the plane would have been called back.Without Shinghen, Govind would be dead.Without the tsunami, the world would have been destroyed.Even Krishnaveni Patti plays a very important role.If she had not put the vial in the idol, maybe Govind would have recovered it then and there and a powerful weapon would have been unleashed. The very fact that it went into the idol meant that it was being accelerated to its destiny.Without Kaifulla Khan, Govind would have never escaped;the list simply goes on.

Q:OK,so does the film talk about theism or atheism?
A:Neither. It talks about how humans drive the destiny of the world.

The movie does Show " A Butterfly " flying accross the screen after the Tsunami Attcck, clearly indicating that the Tsunami is an Outcome of " The Butterfly effect ".

ALSOOOOOOO.. ......

I said that the butterfly COULD cause a hurricane. That's a huge probability. Would be a negligible probability. NOT a huge one. if that were true, we would have cyclones on an hourly basis as butterflies keep flitting all over Africa and u don't have so many cyclones to account for a HUGE probability.
Chaos, relativity and quantum mechanics are so damn weird that you will think I am talking metaphysics and pseudoscience.

Like for example, according to quantum mechanics, there is a finite probability that you will fall right through a solid chair. And it is a PROBABILITY.
Even 10 to the power -26 is finite :-) .

But yes, Quantum Mechanics does allow for weird situations.

THE CONNECTION !!!!!

Guys check this link for a clear and complete explanation

http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Butterfly_ effect

In the above links u can see that butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado or delay, accelerate or even prevent the occurrence of a tornado in a certain location..

So in dasavatharam that idol thrown into sea in 12th century is the cause for tsunami.... so everything is interlinked .The wiki entry also says that chaos could play an important role in plate techtonics. Which means even the 12th century incident is connected.

The 1st scene is perfectly connected to the climax, remember what Kamal says in the 1st scene, that he will not say "Om Nama Shivaya" , but Asin tells him to chant it , but still Kamal refuses , ( in this kamal in his story tries to tell that ) Nambi believes in his god more than anything, but Asin feels "Its ok if we change the god or chant other god's name, its life thats most important." Now if u see the climax its JUST OPPOSITE.... Kamal doesn't believe in god much and values lives of people the most.... but Asin deeply believes in god and that too this dialogue comes when both Asin and Kamal's hand is on the god which came from the sea , and it also means that they are getting united from the place they departed hundreds of years back ( Kamal and Asin). The connection between the 1st scene and the climax in the movie shows the generation circle combined with supernatural powers of GOD and destiny..... !!!

If you watch it closely u can also find another actor who has done double action other than Asin and Kamal.
Asin's father Sahasranamam [12th Century], in the beginning he says to Nambi "Panchatchira manthirathai sollitu vaango mappillai" and at the End [After tsunami] he says "Avar enna jathiyo inga vaanga paati ".
Another Eg. of Chaos Theory and circle of life.

Nambi explanation

Okay, this is slightly outside the chaotic system driving the film as a whole. From what I could gather he says that this story is about ideologies like God,the madness surrounding such ideologies and decides to tell the story of the Shaivite-Vaishnavit e conflict to show how people go crazy in the name of God as an example.

As a loose end,it gets tied up in the end, when the Ranganathar idol is thrown out of the sea due to the tsunami which highlights the cyclic nature of life.Actually the Nambi character highlights both Chaos and Karma which I explained. That is the brilliance of this film, there is so much to see and understand.

Another explanation( and this is slightly far fetched--- as explained earlier) is that Govind is in fact the reincaranation of Nambi. As Nambi he couldn't protect God and died in the name of God.In order to fulfill his Karma,he is reincarnated as Govind Ramasamy who ultimately saves the world from destruction. The idol in the end somewhat hints to this theory; his story began with the idol and it ends with the idol.
As far as the connection with Nambi character and events in 12th Century goes...
The connection is based on the "Butterfly effect ".

When Govind and Andal goes to the bury the idol in the sands, Andal will stumble on a particular stone couple of times...This is the same stone as the one from 12th Century hen Kothai rips her Thaali and flings it at Kulothunga Chozan...it will end up hanging on the stone. So, the implied message here is Andal is Kothai reborn in the 21s century.
During the encounter with Santhana Bharathi in the sand quarry, it is repeat of the incident from 12th century. Instead of Kulothunga Chozhan, it is the Sand Mafia which tries to inflict damage on the land.
This movie is a brilliant juxtaposition of independent characters whose paths cross, if only briefly, which is stunning example of Chaos Theory.

The idol that is drowned in the sea along with Rangarajan in 12th century by Chozha king results in a fault being developed at the bottom of the ocean and creates tremors more than 800 years later. These tremors result in the Tsunami. This again is a classic case of Butterfly Effect wherein a seemingly inconcsequential event (the drowing of the idol) saves Tamil Nadu from being wiped out off the face of the earth.

But actually kamal has not left anything for our imagination. .. Explanation struck the right chord, Kamal does tell to Asin in a dialogue that idol which gets sunken back then gets struck between the tectonic plates under the sea and causes tsunami...
Many people missed this dialogue i guess. Kamal's accent was so very perfect Tamil, that many people missed it.... Being perfect Is a Problem by Itself !!! :)

Although the explanation is a least possible theory, that is what "Chaos Theory" And "Butterfly Effect" are all about.
Its not just the statue that caused the tsunami, but it just started a large chain of effects which kept multiplying exponentially and finally lead to it after 800 years....!!
Why just say this concept is perfectly illogical... it is possible... thats what i have been explaining all the while !!!

The story line is that things going wrong are made to be right which involves many people and countries knowingly or unknowingly.

Knowingly:

-Bush, Manmohan Singh, Govindh, Fletcher, Balaram Naidu, Mallika Sherawath.

Unknowingly:

-Nambi's drowning to death with the heavy statue causes simple changes to the seabed that causes a devastating tsunami 800 years later [Acc. to Chaos theor it is possible.... although it is least probable... It is possible.. so nothing TOTALLY WRONG About it ]
-Poovaragan( actually saved kamal unknowingly- --when poovaragan enters kamal and asin were caught by those manal kollayargal. There poovaragan distracts the gang helping kamal to escape),
- Avatar Singh(gave way to Fletcher to escape in the airport unknowingly) ,
- Japanese(saved govind from fletcher,he knows he is saving but he doesnt know about the play and was there only for revenge),
- Kallifulla and family(saved govind unknowingly) ........
-Vincent is a dalit leader of a lower caste( the so called ) but saved an Iyengar Girl ......and at the end becomes the con of the Iyengar Paati !!
- If Shingen Narahashi's sister was not killed, Fletcher could have killed govind and used the virus for wrong purpose..

This is based on Chaos Theory..!!!!!

After reading everything, I still say it is a wonderful movie with a wonderful concept but why dilute with so much of Kamal even when not needed and it is just not my cup of tea if to understand a movie is going to take this much of thinking and analysis and in-depth discussion and days and days of thinking and putting together stuff. I would rather see it at home in the DVD when it is released...

Dus KaDum!!

Well, was browsing through my favorite haunt videomasti as usual and stumbled on this program called 10KaDum.. hosted by Salman.. was initially surprised 'cos I kind of lost touch with Indian TV.

I watched the celebrity episode with Yuvi and Bhajji and was genuinely pleased with the ease with which the three of them were joking on each other on national TV and the biggest surprise of all was the friendly Salman, somehow I always felt that Salman was reclusive, secretive, too hard to approach and a very private person.. okay, I dont know him in person, but was somehow opinionated which I know is wrong but then kya karen, I am like thatt only, phew!!!

Those interested can watch it HERE.

Nenunnanani... Neekem Kaadani

Listen to it HERE

It is strange how some songs leave an impression on us and you just tend to listen to them again and again and again and again and even then it does not satisfy you and you crave for some more.. right now, I have this feeling for the song listed below.

It is all about assurance that "yes, I am there." I personally feel that assurance gives one a lot of courage, strength, and motivation to just go on when we are totally down and out. I would consider my life made if I could be this to at least one person other than my family.. Kondanta dhairyam, balam istundi nenunnani mana venaka evaraina unte...

There are a lot of songs that inspire you and there are some which just soothe your soul, this is one such gem for me.
